Aeros are pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Doherty to its Board of Directors as Group Business Development Director, effective January 2026.
Neil has been supporting the Aeros Group’s strategic development throughout 2025 and now formally joins the business at a pivotal stage in its growth. His appointment strengthens Aeros’ leadership team as the company continues with its ambitious fleet expansion and modernisation programme.
Neil brings extensive aviation experience from a career spanning senior leadership roles at easyJet, across both UK and European operations, and earlier operational positions at Britannia Airways. His expertise includes strategic planning, large-scale training and operations management, and flight operations; skills that align perfectly with Aeros’ ongoing transformation and future ambitions.

Neil Doherty, Group Business Development Director at Aeros, commented:
“It’s a privilege to join the Aeros Group Board and support the exciting plans to build on the organisation’s strong and successful foundations. Aeros operates to the highest professional airline standards, delivered by passionate, safety-focused teams. I’m delighted to join that team and contribute to the next phase of growth, and I look forward to continuing my own aviation learning within such a progressive and dedicated training organisation.”
Nick Dunn, CEO at Aeros, added:
“Neil has already made a significant contribution to our progress over the past year. His deep understanding of the aviation industry, particularly in training and operational leadership, makes him an invaluable addition to our Board. As we look to the future, Neil’s experience and vision will play a key role in shaping the next chapter for Aeros.”

NOTES FOR EDITORS
About Aeros Flight Training
Aeros Flight Training is one of the UK’s most established modular pilot training academies. With bases across the country (Cardiff, Gloucester, Leeds & Wellesbourne) and a proven track record of helping students achieve commercial licences, Aeros offers flexible, high-quality training programmes led by experienced instructors. The academy prides itself on a supportive learning environment, a fleet of well-maintained aircraft, and a commitment to helping students reach their aviation goals.
What sets Aeros apart in the industry is its commitment to breaking down barriers to train. With no bulky prepayments* and a pay as you learn strategy, students don’t need to raise significant funds up front. Many choose to ‘earn as they learn’, meaning the industry benefits from Pilots who’ve demonstrated resilience and determination.
Aeros delivers a full suite of recreational and professional modular flight training courses in addition to its flagship Fastrack course, combining the benefits of modular training with flexible scheduling and it’s pay as you go pricing.
Aeros students can achieve, both UK CAA or dual UK CAA & EASA licences.
*Students are required to pay a modest enrolment fee to secure training places, but no high value or repeat prepayment are requested or required.

A strong hire like Neil Doherty can really accelerate growth, especially when a company is scaling fast. As Aeros Group expands its business development reach, keeping tabs on physical assets across wider operations becomes critical. You don't want expensive gear or inventory slipping through the cracks while chasing new opportunities. This is exactly why I'd pair that kind of leadership energy with a solid rfid asset tracking software solution. Using RFID reader technology from itemit means you can scan entire racks or tool sets in seconds, not hours. Real-time visibility without manual logging frees your team to focus on what matters — landing the next big deal. Smart expansion needs smart tracking behind it.
