Academy open days

Our doors are always open for a chat and a cuppa, but our open days are special. You'll get the chance to speak with students, instructors, and our first officer graduates who fly for the airlines, all while touring one of our academies and seeing the training aircraft up close. Keep an eye on our news section and social media for information on our upcoming open days.

Learn to teach

We're proud of our training, our graduates and our ethos. Following your dream doesn't need to cost the earth, that's why we've priced our Flight Instructor course competitively. We take the hassle out of your training, and get you to airline employment-ready as quickly and as safely as we can. After all, reputation is everything.

Become an Instructor

Our Flight Instructor (FI) course typically takes between 5 to 6 weeks (full-time). FI course training can take place at any of our Aeros bases, either full-time or part-time, and typically with a maximum of two students per FI Instructor.

Pre-entry requirements

  • Hold a valid EASA CPL (or an EASA PPL with 200 hours flight time of which 150 hours as PIC)

  • Have completed at least CPL-level theoretical knowledge examinations

  • Pass a pre-entry flight test within 6 months of starting the course

  • Meet the other requirements defined in EASA Part-FCL 915.FI

Groundschool - 125 hours

You'll learn about the courses that you will end up instructing, the LAPL/PPL(A) course, as well as techniques for getting the best out of your students. Groundschool encompasses a teaching and learning core course along with exercises where you will be expected to deliver lessons to your instructor.

Flight Training - 30 hours

Your Instructor will pretend to be your student exposing you to the likely situations and mistakes that you will have to deal with as a future Instructor. Under the expert guidance of our FI team, you will also gain first-hand experience of potentially unsafe situations that trainee pilots can put themselves into, and how to deal with them.
