Having already played an important role within the Aeros Group, Neil now steps into the COO position at a time of positive momentum for the business. In his new role, he will focus on strengthening operational planning, supporting team development and helping guide the next phase of Aeros’ strategic growth.
Aeros has established a distinctive position within the Approved Training Organisation (ATO) sector through its flexible modular training model and strong student support network, enabling trainees to progress from their first flight through to airline employment.
Speaking about his new role, Neil Doherty said:
“I am privileged to step into the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Aeros Group at a time of positive change and opportunity.
Aeros holds a genuinely distinctive position within the ATO sector. Our modular training model, combined with strong, supportive relationships with our students, enables us to guide individuals from their very first flight through to the airline flight deck.
What stands out most, however, is our people. Across the organisation, I have seen a depth of talent, professionalism and genuine passion, with a shared commitment to delivering a training journey that is safe, secure and rewarding for every student.
Over the coming months, my focus will be on strengthening our foundations, particularly around our people, our planning functions and how we collaborate as one team - as we continue building the next phase of Aeros’ development and growth.”
Nick Dunn, CEO of Aeros Flight Training, added:
“Neil’s appointment as Chief Operating Officer marks an important step in the continued development of Aeros. His leadership experience, operational expertise and people-first approach align perfectly with the values that have shaped our growth to date.
Aeros has been built on strong foundations established through the vision and commitment of Martin Lynch, whose passion and dedication have helped position the organisation as a leading provider of pilot training. It is through that focus and drive that Aeros has reached the position it holds today, and for that reason, this appointment should be seen not as a change, but as an evolution of that legacy.
As Aeros continues to expand, maintaining a strong safety culture and exceptional professional standards across every part of the organisation remains central to who we are and how we prepare students for airline careers.
Aeros has built a strong reputation through high-quality modular pilot training, exceptional student support and meaningful airline partnerships, and Neil will play a key role in strengthening those foundations further as we continue to grow across the wider aviation community.”
The appointment reflects Aeros’ ongoing investment in strengthening its leadership structure as demand for high-quality commercial pilot training continues to grow across the aviation industry.
