Having successfully passed your Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL), Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) Class Rating, and Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME/IR), your next step is to complete the Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course. Designed specifically to prepare you to work as part of an effective flight crew, the MCC is a mandatory requirement on your journey to becoming a First Officer.
The Jet Orientation Course (JOC) builds on the MCC providing you with a much greater insight into how you operate modern airliners and the expectations that airlines have of you. The JOC will prepare you not only for the commercial world, but also the airline assessments! Therefore, while not mandatory, Aeros strongly recommend that you complete a combined MCC/JOC to give you the best chance of getting your first airline role.
The Aeros MCC/JOC is provided by Simtech – recognised as one of the industry leaders of MCC/JOC training. The course runs over 10 days (including weekends) and includes:
- Ground school – 3 days
An introduction to the theory and reality of working in a multi-crew environment. The course introduces Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Checklists and how to work as part of an effective airline flight crew. It also provides an introduction to the differences between the smaller aircraft you will have experienced up to this point in your training, and jet-turbine airliners.
- Simulator – 7 days
Consisting of a 1-hour briefing followed by 4-hours in a B737-800 fixed base simulator per day, the simulator phase allows you to put into practice the theory learned in the classroom in a series of exercises covering both normal and non-normal operating procedures – including engine fires! Days 1-5 cover the MCC, and days 6 and 7 are the JOC element.
The cost of the course includes:
