From Training to the Flight Deck

Every professional pilot starts somewhere.

For some Aeros graduates, that first step was a trial lesson. Others joined us with a PPL, transferred part-way through their training or chose modular training because it allowed them to build their career around work, study or other commitments.

Their journeys may be different, but they share something important: the determination to turn their ambition into a professional aviation career.

For 40 years, Aeros has helped pilots make that journey.

Today, Aeros graduates can be found flying professionally across the UK and internationally, with airlines, business aviation operators, flight training organisations and across the wider aviation industry.

Where Are They Now?

Completing professional flight training is a significant achievement, but for our career students it is also the beginning of the next chapter.

Aeros graduates have progressed from modular flight training into professional flying careers with airlines in the UK and around the world.

This page celebrates those achievements and, importantly, the individual journeys behind them.

Different Routes. One Ambition.

There is no single route to becoming a professional pilot.

Some of our graduates complete their training through Aeros Fast-Track, following a structured, full-time modular pathway.

Others choose Flexi-Track, completing individual stages around employment, university, family life or other commitments.

Some begin their entire flying journey with Aeros. Others join us after completing elements of their training elsewhere.

That diversity is one of the strengths of modular flight training. It allows aspiring pilots to build a route that works for their circumstances without losing sight of the professional standards required at the end of it.

Developing the Complete Pilot

Reaching the flight deck takes more than passing exams and skills tests.

Airlines are looking for pilots who can demonstrate professionalism, communication, teamwork, resilience, sound decision-making and the ability to continually learn and develop.

That's why Aeros looks beyond technical performance throughout the training journey.

Through Aeros Compass, our student development and progression system, we help students understand both their technical progress and the professional behaviours that will become increasingly important as they move towards employment.

The result is a training journey focused not simply on gaining a licence, but on developing a well-rounded professional pilot.

Support Beyond Training

Our relationship with our students doesn't end when the final skills test is complete.

Aeros Graduate Services supports students and graduates as they make the transition from training into professional aviation.

From understanding the recruitment landscape and preparing applications to assessment and interview preparation, industry engagement and potential airline matching opportunities, our team remains available as graduates take their next steps.

Our airline relationships provide further opportunities for students and graduates to engage with the industry, understand what individual operators are looking for and, where appropriate, be considered for specific opportunities.

A Community That Continues to Grow

Graduation doesn't mean leaving Aeros behind.

Our graduates remain an important part of the Aeros community, sharing their experiences with current students, returning for events and providing valuable insight into life beyond flight training.

That connection between current students and those already working in the industry helps the next generation see what is possible — and learn from those who have already made the journey.
