The CPL at Aeros is conducted over a period of three weeks. Each of our CPL instructors have a maximum of two students each and a dedicated aeroplane thus making the chances of your instructor or aircraft being unavailable for your lesson extremely unlikely.

The CPL skills test is conducted in a Complex aircraft – ie. with a variable pitch propeller and retractable undercarriage. Although initial training for the CPL is carried out on a non-complex aircraft, the final ten hours of the course are completed in a complex aircraft as we believe that the standard five hours asks too much of the student. All CPL training is carried out from our main base at Gloucestershire airport near Cheltenham.

Our CPL success rate is something that we are particularly proud of. Our first time pass rate currently stands at 78%.

The Single-engine CPL course is priced at £4650 which includes 25 hours flying time in a PA28, all landings and a 170A test. The Multi-engine CPL course is priced at £6450 and includes 18 hours flying time in a PA28 and 10 hours flying time in a PA34.

Additionally we also cater for those with ICAO CPL qualifications and wish to convert to the JAA CPL. In order to qualify for the conversion you must have completed the JAA ATPL ground exams before completing the course. We offer both single and multi engine courses. All tests are carried out at Gloucestershire Airport. It should be further noted that all prices are based on the course hours stated. If you require further training it will be at further expense.

CPL REQUIREMENTS:
Upon completion of the CPL course, you must satisfy the following conditions in order for your licence to be issued:

Have accumulated 200 hours flight time, of which must be 100 hours PIC, 10 hours instrument time, 5 hours night time, and 20 hours of cross country time

Have completed a 300 nm cross-country flight including 2 full stop landings at airfields other than your starting point.

Hold a valid Class 1 Medical certificate

Have successfully completed all 14 CPL or ATPL theoretical knowlege exams

 

 

 

 

COURSE START DATES

All prices are inclusive of VAT at 17.5%. Charge time is calculated as airborne time plus 10 minutes. Landing Fees are additional at current rates (except for Trial Lessons). Inclusive Courses include landings. Away landings and approaches will be charged extra at cost. Prices correct at creation time but may vary slightly with inflation and fuel rates.
